COLLECTING OLD HARDDRIVES

Over the years I enjoyed collecting computer hard drives and have about 20 or thirty of them. I tried to learn how to repair some of them and got pretty good at recovering lost files and partitions. And I still can do some recovery. I also used them to download pictures, lots of photos. I would pick a subject and search that subject and download like a wildman, everything and anything. I haven't even reviewed half of the downloads. I also enjoyed downloading programs and learning how to use them. Daz studio was a 3d art studio and when I first got it, I went wild downloading free models, props, and poses, some that I would never use. But I enjoyed looking at the art others did, even though mine were never that great. But I did get a couple of screensavers that I build with the Maya doll and backdrops. Right now I am into building a mouse that I need for my Easter story. I also enjoyed using stumble upon, a program for Firefox that you just push enter and it goes to pages of photos that I would download fast and move on to the next page. I never worried about looking at the pictures, because I could enjoy or not enjoy them at a later time, and most I never saw, but I sure could fill a harddrive fast. Then the fad came with utube and the downloading came back, but took longer. I guess I saved everything because I thought that when I got to old to work on computers, I could then look at them. But I am a collecting junky, my back yard is proof of that. I have things I don't even remember getting, from hubcaps to moters.

Computer collecting

For many years I collected and rebuild old computers. I think I have about ten old computers right now. But I plan to cut down on them, because I can't meet the upkeep and haven't built any for some time now. The problem I have been dealing with is knowing the ones that have the hard drives or CD rom's that came with them. My memory has gotten so bad that I just can't even remember how to hook them up, but I was good at it once. That old age!!!
